Collaboration? Well if it worked for Silicon Valley...

I’ve always been an advocate of being open to possibilities.  I co-hosted a session at last months Digital Claims event with James Gilmour of Simply Business. We were talking about insurance and SMEs.  I painted a vision of freeing up the flow of data to better serve businesses - from claims prevention to tailored policies. I think a few attendees thought I was some crazy free radical.  Contradiction abounds in the insurance industry.  Insurers will collaborate on large corporate risks but not on smaller risks. Am I naive to think the new generation of fintech disrupters might behave differently and collaborate where connected services can join up to better serve the client?  Well, according to Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google, Silicon Valley was founded on adjacent start-ups collaborating.  Maybe I’m not the mad one?
